Riccardo Rosas
Born in Castelfranco Veneto, February 13, 1963.
Experience
At the age of 18, he began his professional career at Venice "Grand Theater la Fenice" (Phoenix Theater). For the next thirteen years, he worked and perfected his craft with numerous Italian and international theaters and companies. In 1983, he worked in Paris at the invitation of the "Theatre Municipal Chatelet", where he studied with Daniel Frank, Richard Caceres and Gilbert Mayer. Thanks to ballet master and choreographer Richard Caceres, he moved to New York in 1984. For three years he danced with the "Connecticut Ballet Theatre" under the direction of Brett Raphael, dancing numerous solo roles. He was a guest company student of "American Ballet Theatre " during the company summer season at the Metropolitan Opera Theatre in New York's Lincoln Center. During his career he danced with some of ballet's greatest artists, including Rudolf Nureyev, Fernando Bujones, Julio Bocca, Carla Fracci, Alessandra Ferri, Sylvie Guillem, Oriella Dorella, Eric Vu An, and many others. He performed with Carla Fracci's "Italian Company of Classical Ballet", the "Ballet Company of Venice", "City Theatre of Florence", Micha Van Hoecke's "Ensamble", Romolo Valli 's Theatre in Reggio Emilia. He has appeared on television as a guest on "Festival" and "Fantastico". He also worked whit Lubiana's Opera Theatre. In 1993, he worked in Germany as a soloist at Mannheim's "National Theatre". |
Instruction
In 1982 he graduated from the "Center of Classical Dance Study" in Padua, directed by Mariolina Giaretta. He won a scholarship for and attended a course of professional specialization with A.T.E.R. Balletto in Reggio Emilia. In 1984 he won a scholarship for a diploma course at the Juilliard School. In 2000, he completed and passed the exams for a two-year "Theoretical and Practical Course for Teachers of Classical Dance" at the school of La Scala Theater in Milan. He studied whit masters of the highest international reputation, such us Stanley Williams, Wilhelm Burmann, Alfredo Corvino, Benjamin Harkarvy, David Howard, Woitek Lowski, Natalia Dudinskaya, Margaret Craske.... To his classical training he added modern end contemporary dance, studying with Mary Kaiwara, Ronald K. Brown, Carolyn Carlson, Peter Goos...
Competences
In 2000 he's invited to return in the United States where he works as teacher and administrator with the Connecticut Ballet center and teaching at the Ballet School of Stanford (CT), the Ballet Academy of Springdale and the Ballet Arts school of New York. Currently he's directing the professional dance studio "Dance Circle" in Levico Terme (TN) Italy. Teach ballet, pointe, pax de deus and modern dance.
